Description:

This is open to both new/initial attendees and to experienced professionals who would like a refresher. The Designated Person Training is required under the Asbestos Hazardous Emergency Response Act (AHERA) for school personnel who are responsible for implementing AHERA requirements.

The following topics will be covered:

· Background information on asbestos
· Asbestos and health
· Recognition of suspect materials
· Recognition of where confirmed and suspect materials exist
· Recognition of damage, deterioration, and de-lamination
· Control options
· Management programs
· Regulations

Our trainer will be IEA’s Matt Lindberg. Matt manages IEA’s Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) services, inspections, management plans, trainings, and consulting. He oversees hazardous material abatement projects from project design to final report. He performs asbestos inspections for renovation and demolition projects, and he has over 24 years of experience in the field.

This training satisfies the requirement for initial and refresher AHERA Designated Person Training. Training documentation will be distributed and filed for the District once training is complete.
