IEA Connects, Presents and Supports Students at the 2026 MASMS Conference
EA was proud to attend the 2026 MASMS Conference & Trade Show, held September 30–October 2 in St. Cloud, Minnesota.
The annual conference brings together educational facility professionals from across Minnesota for several days of learning, networking and conversations focused on the operation, safety and care of K–12 and higher education facilities. MASMS represents more than 700 professionals working in facilities, grounds, health and safety throughout the state. Masms
This year, IEA was well represented by Mary Ferrian, Amy Satterfield, Pat Weir, Amanda Edberg, Faith Breeden, Lauren Athmann and Jeff Athmann.
In addition to connecting with attendees throughout the conference and trade show, two members of the IEA team led educational sessions:
Faith Breeden presented “Power without Peril: Lithium Battery Risks in Facility,” sharing important information about the growing risks associated with lithium-ion batteries and considerations for safer facility management.
Amanda Edberg presented “Ladder Safety/Elevated Work,” providing practical safety guidance for one of the most common workplace hazards faced by facility and maintenance teams.
The MASMS conference offered a wide range of educational sessions covering building maintenance, HVAC, electrical safety, indoor air quality, fire code, leadership, energy systems and other issues affecting today’s educational facilities.
IEA was also excited to help sponsor the MASMS student scholarship program, supporting the next generation of professionals entering the industry. Scholarship fundraising was incorporated throughout the conference, including a scholarship golf event and trade show raffle.
It was a busy few days filled with great conversations, valuable learning opportunities and plenty of networking.
Thank you to MASMS, the volunteers, presenters and everyone who stopped by to connect with the IEA team. We always appreciate the opportunity to be part of an organization dedicated to safer, stronger and better-managed educational facilities throughout Minnesota.
