IEA Safety was proud to participate in the ASSP/AIHA joint meeting on January 20, 2026, hosted at the 133rd Airlift Wing of the Minnesota Air National Guard. The event offered a unique opportunity to learn directly from military safety leaders while gaining an up-close look at real-world risk management in action.
We had the pleasure of hearing from Lt. Col. Stacey Meiser and Senior Master Sgt. Matt Monjes, who shared insights into the Air National Guard’s occupational safety management and risk management programs. Their presentations highlighted how safety principles are applied in complex, high-risk environments—where planning, discipline, and accountability are essential to mission success.
One of the most memorable parts of the day was the visit to the aircraft hangar, where attendees had the chance to see a C-130 aircraft up close. Touring the aircraft and discussing maintenance operations provided valuable perspective on the safety protocols, specialized equipment, and procedures used to protect personnel working on and around aircraft. Seeing these controls firsthand reinforced how critical thoughtful safety systems are in demanding operational settings.
We are grateful to Lt. Col. Meiser and SMSgt Monjes for taking the time to present to the ASSP/AIHA group and for offering such an informative and engaging experience. We also extend our sincere appreciation for their service and commitment to safety—both within the Minnesota Air National Guard and beyond.
