IEA’s Matt Lindberg Presents at the 2026 MHCEA Spring Symposium

IEA was proud to participate in the 2026 Minnesota Healthcare Engineers Association (MHCEA) Spring Symposium held May 19–20 at the Bunker Hills Event Center in Coon Rapids, Minnesota. The annual symposium brings together healthcare facility professionals from across the state to discuss facility management, regulatory compliance, safety, construction, and operational best practices within healthcare environments.

Representing IEA, Matt Lindberg, hazardous materials manager, presented during both days of the symposium. His presentation, “Asbestos & Lead: Healthcare Facility & Project Requirements,” focused on the environmental and regulatory considerations healthcare facilities must address during renovation, maintenance, and construction projects.

Matt shared insights into asbestos and lead compliance requirements, project planning considerations, and best practices for maintaining safe environments within hospitals and long-term care facilities. As healthcare facilities continue to modernize and renovate aging infrastructure, proper hazardous material identification and management remains critical for protecting occupants, contractors, and facility staff.

The symposium featured educational sessions, exhibitor networking opportunities, and discussions centered around healthcare engineering and facility operations. Industry professionals from across Minnesota attended the event to collaborate and learn about current challenges and emerging trends impacting healthcare facilities.
